Sun turned sharply to the right and tore off in the opposite direction to divert attention. She yipped and came to a stop, telling the dog to run after her at the same time.

Already she had lost sight of Nimbus, vanished somewhere into the dense undergrowth. Corsica came to a halt, growling. Hopefully that had been enough to scare them all off... She was starting to grow tired.
But just as she was about to turn and head home, she heard another one behind her. Was it... Teasing her? Snarling angrily, Corsica felt another surge of adrenaline as she wheeled around to chases Widdershins again. There's was another one nearby, she could hear him too, but she could only concentrate on one fox at a time.

Widdershins laughed, diving back into the pricker bush. No way the dog could follow her there, and with any luck she'd get a nose full of thorns for her trouble.

Sun gekkered annoyingly, running in circles, teasing the dog, trying to distract it. She wanted to help the other foxes. She yipped again, rearing back on her back legs.

Again with the thorns! Corsica reared back, angrily clawing them from her nose. How did that fox manage to wriggle through there completely unharmed? They were like little snakes sometimes...
An there was another one yelping at her from the other direction. Howling with rage, the dog wheeled around to barrel blindly after Sun instead. She lunged towards the sound of his voice, hoping she could finally sink her teeth into some stinking fox fur.

Sun waited for a split second, then attempted to jump over the dog and run as fast as she could. She dug her claws into the dirt, bracing for her coming landing.
