Burn eyed the vixens and the tod with his burnt-sienna (Dark Brown) eyes. His rare peaceful demeanor prevented him from intervening, so he contentedly watched the scene play before him. He was on the opposite bank, anyway. Although he would swim if it suited him or if there was a good reason, he avoided it if possible unless the sun tortured him with its blazing rays. In that case he would take a dip to cool of his smoky red fur, maybe fish for a little bit. He had become quite skilled at the activity, although he preferred to sink his fangs into voles and mice. Speaking of which, the prey was abundant on his side of the creek, seeing that they knew that the foxes wouldn't swim across the river and that Burn wasn't hungry.

Blossom padded silently along the riverbank. She was hoping that soon she'd catch a scent of some kind of prey, but so far she had no luck. She had a habit of not eating until she was starving, so she figured she could put hunting off for awhile. As she watched some other foxes, she wondered if they had eaten today. This area was quite abundant with prey, so she didn't see why not. Perhaps I will hunt, Blossom thought. She gazed around a bit and suddenly a faint scent met her nose. Mouse? she decided, somewhat unsure. Then it hit her. The mouse was on the other side of the creek. I HATE getting wet! Blossom thought angrily. But, she felt hunger begin to grip her stomach so she carefully forced herself into the water. Blossom felt absolutely tortured, padding thought the cold but shallow water, but she figured it was for the best. The water was becoming a bit deeper, and Blossom began swimming in a clumsy manner, and finally it shallowed out and she arrived on the shore. She began to trace the scent of mouse, but the wet, clingy feeling of her fur was bothering her. She tried to keep her mind off of it as she sighted her prey by a thick weed and a rock. She stalked toward it, and finally pounced roughly and snapped her jaws around the tiny creature. Once sure it was dead, she lay down and began to enjoy her meal.

OOC: Which side of the creek are you on Nemesis?)) Burn silently followed the vixen as she swam across the river, seeing that she despised doing so. Perhaps it was for prey, seeing that many foxes will go to somewhat large lengths to get prey if they required sustenance quickly. As the vixen pounced on the mouse and feasted on it, he realized he was hungry as well. Scenting a fat vole, he realized it was wandering within five tail-lengths of him. His arching figure was briefly visible through the trees as he ended the vole's life with a quick bite to the neck, finishing it quickly.

A small and lean gray fox padded over to the stream. He dipped his small head into the cool, refreshing, water and lapped it up. He lifted up his dripping muzzle and saw the other foxes. He blinked and barked "Hello." his ears folded back shyly.

Looking around briefly, Burn decided there wasn't much to do here. He set off at a brisk trot, away from the river and the other foxes, and pretty soon he was out of sight.
